Sept 4  Work Session

Work Session: 9/4/14 – all board members are present

 Weed survey – Allied - Marguerite and Pat to discuss and get an update from Chris – they will ask him for help. Although he is not in favor of Carp – ask him for advice. Get estimates for carp – the objective, scientific report is needed – it will go to the town and they will send the report to the DEC for recommendations – carp or not

The DEC will decide if we should have carp. The gate needs to be engineered.
Pricing needed for each option available

 Boat removals – if the second sticker is on the boat – Boats need to be removed

All boats need to be removed by Dec  1st – should we remove boats or leave? The Town law states ‘you may be asked to remove’ - We will decide next meeting

The area of land that used to be mowed – should we mow it? weed whack it? Voted on by board – Denied by all members for this year – Need to be decided: How much of this land do we clear and where
Interlaken looks ratty 
Parkland clean up:
In the fall = debris, brush, fallen trees – ask the town to chip it or purchase our own? 5K?
Compromise – get volunteers and then pay the town to chip it – we need to be clear on what to cut and what to clear
North end of the lake – get estimates – then let the community know – want to keep taxes down = come volunteer

 The fence by 44 lakeshore house is rusted – agreed to remove fence but leave bushes – eye sore and a hazard – voted and agreed by all board members.

 1st week of November – clear vines, clean garbage – bag it
Boat house painting – David to finish painting & stain – Thompson’s Waterseal – to finish benches
once the boat house is complete.

 Remove the locust trees but do something to help erosion - need opinions on what to do

Oct 1st – no more maintenance.
Oct 4th – beach clean up – bring in the floats – 12*12 float at the end of the lake needs to be moved – move it out to the open clear area and make it a fishing dock

Future projects – walking path; erosion; handicap area/access – easy to pick a spot – but access is needed
Benches – Marguerite to price different types – cedar; cement; different areas to put them – They MUST be anchored.
Ball field – drainage - Hank to talk to Russ or Rich – need drainage from R field @ the bench to outfield – need a price
Jackson beach fence - add specific details to the bid on the RFQ
Erosion of the beach – sand- what do we need to do – need Burms – check with an engineer

 
Budget – Trish had a discrepancy of the hours for the swim team and or life guards – the numbers for next year are needed by Dec 31, 2014

Softball league – estimate of teams, how many games, how many teams, how much is the stipend, balls, shirts, amount for equipment, umpires, commissioners, etc…What does he need –it is our budget!

Next year – meeting with the captains and the board – We need respect for the field – bottle tops and cigarette butts

Dumpster – do we still need it or should we get rid of it – if we get charged – we do not want it – looks & the expense – then remove it

 April 1st-Dec 1st have the dumpster 
Remove port-o-sans Sept 15th – beach – Oct 15th softball 
What’s the last bill date?

 

Next Year:
Swim Team – open to the public
Life guard – new $10 per hour; 25 cents each year they come back – head life guard $15.00
Maintenance – same budget –maybe a youth helper - $9 per hour
Meeting room donation - $250.00

 New Business:
Any party on the beach (Hudson) – The town needs to give approval
If alcohol is served – covered under the umbrella policy - waiver – application – filed with the town
10-15 people waive the fee if not for profit – only PLPD residents – a refundable $150 deposit –if all cleaned up

 We need life guard chairs – have a carpenter make them – and the soffit/roofline repaired – RFQ – get a price

    Meeting minutes are posted at the town website once they are accepted into record by the Park Advisory Board.  Minutes are also kept on record at the Patterson Town Hall.
