Boat Storage

All boats stored or used on the parkland require a Park District Registration Sticker issued by the Town of Patterson.  To acquire a sticker for your boat, visit the Town Clerk’s office at Patterson Town Hall during normal business hours or Email us for other possible arrangements.
Boat Registration Tags
  • All boats, canoes, kayaks stored or used on parkland property & waterways must have a Park District Boat Sticker.
  • Stickers are to be visible when boats are stored and operated.
  • ALL previous registration stickers MUST be removed
  • This requirement is to cut down on the out of district boat use
 
  • Storage Areas
  • Boats with stickers may be stored on parkland property provided they do not block a path or any open area that may be used by residents.

  • Boats may not be stored on or adjacent to any beach, park area or as noted by any signage.
  • Trailers may not be stored on parkland property.

Storage Dates
  • Boats with stickers may be stored on parkland property between March 1st and December 1st of each year.  
  • All boats must be removed by December 1st for the winter.

Number of Boats
  • Putnam Lake residents are permitted to store and use up to three boats.  The first boat sticker is free, second is $15 and third is $30.

Non-Compliance
  • Boats not complying with “Safe Boating Regulations” or “Boat Storage Regulations” may be impounded.
  • Impounded boats will be stored at the boat house for 60 days.  (after which they become the property of the Putnam Lake Park District and Town of Patterson.)
  • Owners may redeem impounded boats during the first 60 days by contacting the Park Advisory Board or the Town of Patterson Town Clerk.  The redemption fee is $75 per occurrence.
