Public Meeting Mar 3 2016

3/4/2016

Board Members in attendance: Mike Ercole, Hank Earle, Laura Russo, Pat Ploeger, Marguerite Shortt, Lucinda Johnson
Pledge of Allegiance
Minutes: 2/16/18 approved
Lake Management: Algaecide will be used in the lake and flyers will be sent out to inform residents.
Goose egg: Breeding starts beginning of April and then we can oil the eggs
Carp Gate: We have the approval for the carp gate. We are waiting for information on the DASNY grant.
Walking Path: In the fall of 2015, we started clearing the land. We need to clear some small trees. We will be posting the flyers to recruit volunteers. We will pick a weekend to remove 44 trees and trim dead limbs. Volunteers will help us save a lot of money. Volunteers can take the wood.
Doggie stations: Hank, Lucinda, and Marguerite installed the new stations around the lake. There is a pooper scooper law in Putnam Lake.
Trash Cans: The new cans will be put around the lake
Beaches: We need volunteers if not we will need to pay to remove the weeds in the lake.
Mowing: The Town is sending out the bids for mowing the grass on the parklands and the beaches.
Docks: We are looking to replace the docks and walkouts: The town applied for a DASNY equipment grant to use towards the docks/walkouts
Ballfield: We are looking to replace the backstop and 1st base to outfield fences.
Basketball Court:  The board approved the basketball specs that Pat provided. She will send it to the town board for approval after which the town can put it  out for bid. We are also waiting for a possible grant from Peckham. If we do not get the grant - maybe Peckham can help with a donation of Item 4 and or asphalt. The field will not be lighted.
Softball: The league will have 12 teams this year.
Little League: Mike Ercole is trying to get teams to come here to practice and have some games. Maybe a less formal league will start up.
A suggestion was made for a women’s softball league. There is still interest. So maybe someone will start up something here.  Joe said he was interested in coaching a women’s league.
Swim Team: We need a new person to run the swim team as the coordinator.
Easter Egg Hunt: Children’s Event – at the ballfield - March 19th; Rain date: March 20th
Volleyball: If there is interest from the residents, the PLPD will buy the net and ball.
A suggestion was made to print up flyers for volleyball, softball, as well as volunteers to cut down parkland trees along the walkway and take the free wood?
Neighborhood watch: Excellent event on April 25th: Putnam County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich will come to discuss drugs and how to spot the use.
Newsletter: Looking for pictures, information to be posted, all suggestions are welcome.
Communications:  We are looking to get an electronic sign installed at the fire house to post events. It is pending with the town board
