June 4th Work Session

6/5/2015

Work Session:

Lake Management: Herbicides didn’t work as well as expected. We are at about the time the weeds should die. It slowed down the growth but didn’t kill it all
Carp – pending
Sluice gate: It has arrived at the Town. RFP’s are being sent out for installation. Should be done is September after the beaches are closed. The lake will be lowered.
Grant: pending
Fire Dept Sign – Pending – needs approval
Out of District Membership – we are taking 25 families as out of district users at $125 per family – They have no rights or, 1st come 1st serve. We will email and we will have it at the next public meeting – for 1 season of 2015.
Life guards – training – June 17th at Lake – if it rains – it will be held at the fire house
Pat contacted Rich Williams’ referrals for landscape architect – we need to give her dates and she can come out and look at what we need. Set up for the 14th of June.
Basketball courts:  put it either where it used to be or farther back into the woods. 50 x 84 in right field. Mike Ercole will get someone to look at removing some trees, clean fill compacted, leveled, remove boulders. Then we make a decision. We need a quote.
Doug Looney – June 15th @ 3 pm – see what he can help us with
We all want to send mass emails. Mike will send everyone the link.
Let’s clean up the boat storage area on Sunday the 7th? Hank will send an email,
Boat house – fishing is okay, but no parking, no trailering, no launching. Put up a chain to stop people from driving down there.
Maintenance: Dave – Locona beach – grind down some stumps.
Walkout docks – talk to a carpenter to repair the walkouts/rafts – we need a clearer quote – break it down
Marguerite will send out more links to look at other types of docks and walkouts

Weeds: Northeast Diving Services –from New Milford - we need a plan for 2016. Hank never heard back from them. Marguerite will try to contact them. They specialize in weed pull early spring and late fall. Availability? Or get recommendations?

Swimteam coaches: $12, 9, 7 for 15 hours a week for 6 week
Swim Lessons Instructors - $15, 10.82
When is it a party and not a family on the beach? We need to find details in the bylaws.
Dumping on the parklands – we need to monitor
Baseball money – has it been submitted to the Town? Pat will check on Monday.
Make racks for boats?

Maser Consulting PA: (Architectural estimate) we haven’t heard back from them yet. Marguerite and Pat chatted with Rich Williams and he recommends we discuss this process with the town board first for approval. Pass all large expenditures by the board. We wanted a price for the walk around. Also get a price from Rich William’s recommended vendor. Pat will call and get an idea of how much to do the walk around.
We need clarification from the town if we are a special district.
What should our first project be? 1st project to be a walking path from Interlaken to Lacona. Get Boy scouts to do an eagle scout project?

Beaches and parklands – Tim Costanlano- life guards

Ann – feels she should get more $ as a life guard, she is a G2 and only gets $10.82 per hour. Wants more $. $15 per hour as a swim instructor to teach the kids to swim. She is guaranteed hours. She has a 2 year contract. We reimburse for the course.

Boat house: shingles are done. Soffit is completed.

Swim Team: 1 swim coach will be from the rec center. Get the 3 coaches approved Ball Pond has a group Northeast that will come in the fall and clean up the weeds. We need a good spring clean up next year.

Flowers / Barrels at the beach – under $300 to have nice flowers on both beaches. Alicia will organize Neighborhood signs are ready and should be put up this weekend.Email address: We all should have access to the email list
