Pledge of Allegiance
Minutes: April 21, May 5, and May 19 2016 – Have all been approved
Parklands: We are still looking for volunteers to clear the wood and cut down trees and vines for the proposed walking path. Trash barrels have been put around the parkland. The PLPD is working with the town to enforce the section of Chap. 116 of the Town code that forbids overnight parking on the lake side of Lake Shore Dr. and other roads that abut the parkland. Daytime parking is permitted only for residents’ use of the beaches, lake and parkland.
Beaches: DOH inspection report was excellent with both beaches passing with flying colors. The PLPD contracted out the sand placement and the weed removal on both beaches. The repair and launching of the docks and walkouts were done by dedicated volunteers. We hope that the DASNY grant comes through for next year so we can replace the ones we have with maintenance-free docks.
Basketball court: The grant that we applied to from Peckham Industries was denied, but we are hoping we can still get materials donated by them. The county installed a guardrail, and we had the drainage issues fixed with a new catch basin and piping that was supplied by the county.
Recreation: The PLPD is working on getting fireworks on the lake for July 4th. Another event the board is considering is having live music once a month on Warren Beach. These events will be for adults only. Attendees should bring their own chairs, food and beverages. A resident requested a volleyball net for the beach and offered to coordinate regular volleyball nights on the beach.
Swim Team: the 1st practice will start 6/27. We have 20 kids already signed up. Monique Lawlor will be the Swim Team Coordinator
National Night Out Block Party: Aug 2nd, rain date Aug 9. Start time 6 or 7 pm – (to be decided)
Newsletter: Residents are starting to receive them and they have lots of compliments
