A Successful Boat Removal Day!

11/18/2013

Thank you to all the volunteers who made the Boat Removal Assistance Day a success!

Several crews of volunteers came equipped with trucks and/or trailers to help community residents move their boats to their homes.  The turnout of volunteers and residents was amazing.  Nearly 40 boats were moved.  In addition, trailer loads of garbage were removed from boat storage areas and other areas of the parkland.

All remaining boat owners are reminded to remove their boats by December 1st.  Removal of the boats annually allows for parkland clearing and cleanup around boat storage areas, reduces the amount of abandoned boats that have been historically left on the parkland each year, removes chains annually to prevent choking of healthy trees and ensures only active boats return to the parkland in the spring.

Thanks to all those who helped!

Boat Removal Day:  Nov 16th

11/5/2013

Saturday, November 16, 2013, has been set up as Boat Removal Day.  The Putnam Lake boat policy requires all boats stored on the parkland to be removed for the winter months by December 1, 2013.  Boats not removed will be impounded.

The Park District will have volunteers available to assist in moving boats if any resident needs assistance.  Some volunteers may have a truck or trailer while others can be available to help load your vehicle.

Boats may return to the parkland on March 1, 2014 with a 2014 Park District registration tag.  Registration tags will be available on February 1, 2014 at the Patterson Town Hall or through our website.

If you’d like to request assistance or would like to volunteer on November 16th, email us at [email protected] or call us at 845-878-6500 x 41
