Lake Management:
Cutrine + has been applied and the lake looks great. We may schedule another treatment
DASNY grant – has been approved but has to go through a process in Finance and then to the town for approval and hopefully be ready for the fall of 2016
Parklands:
Walking Path: We are still looking for volunteers to clear the wood and cut down trees and vines
The board has to approve any trees/brush around the parkland prior to being removed/cut down
Garbage pickup: Pat addressed some missing trash pickup with the actual truck driver and helper
We had a request to add more garbage pails around the lake – we will add more to the budget for 2017
Illegal parking: Working with the town to enforce the code – we do not get the details of the tickets. The parking is only for PLPD residents during the day that are using the parklands and beaches
Beaches:
Dock replacement – looking at EZdocks – looking to replace them with a nice product but it being held up due to a DASNY equipment grant.
Ballfield: Basketball court – we had extensive work done to reduce the drainage issue and the County helped with the supplies
Recreation & Events:
Music on the Beach: at Warren Beach - Petey Hop will play on 7/16; Scotty and his son will play on 8/13
Bass Tournament: 7/16/16
Swim Team: at home meets are: 7/14 & 7/22 at Warren Beach
National Night Out Block Party: 8/2 – It strengthens our relationship with Law enforcement and it gives the message that criminals are not welcome in the lake; Fire Department Rescue boat; fire engines, Music will be there – Lock your doors - Leave your lights on and come on down to the ballfield from 6-9 pm
Rich Filipelli handed in his resignation last Thursday. So we are looking for a new board member.
Public recognition:
Question: How do we control sea grass: carp is the answer to clear it.
Question: It looks like there are more lily pads than in the past, but overall there aren’t more
Water chestnuts need to be removed – we do not have a lot of them.
Note: The eagles are still here. We also have otters in the lake. Bears have been spotted all around the lake.
Question: Can we have a movie at Warren beach? Try a test run and if it works we can have a movie night.
